When you sign in using Sign in with Apple, we receive a unique identifier for your account. If you choose to share them, we may also receive your name and email address. Apple gives you the option to hide your email address, in which case we receive a private relay email address instead of your real one. We use this information only to create and secure your account.
You may set a username and choose an avatar within the app. This information is stored as part of your account.
Hikari AI includes AI features. When you use them, the following content is collected and processed to generate a response:
We record the number of AI requests you make each day. This is used to enforce daily usage limits for free and premium accounts. We do not use this information for advertising.
If you purchase a premium subscription, the transaction is handled by Apple through the App Store. We receive confirmation of your subscription status from Apple, but we do not receive or store your payment card details. Apple processes all payments.

Our AI features are powered by Groq. When you use the AI chat, camera, quizzes, or lessons, the relevant content (your text messages, camera images, or requested topics) is sent to Groq's API to generate a response. See Groq's Privacy Policy.

We may also disclose information if required to do so by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or others.
We retain your account information for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account or request deletion, we will remove your personal information from our systems, except where we are required to retain it for legal or legitimate operational reasons. Content sent to AI providers to generate responses is handled according to those providers' own policies, linked above.

Hikari AI is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@codewithaijoe.com and we will take steps to delete it.
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including secure authentication and encrypted connections to our backend services. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
